Can my mom use one of my husband's meals if she has his key to the world?

I guess I should have read that. Oops!! Can she and I share a meal and just use one of my dining credits? Of course we would have to pay for her drink and stuff, but I get an appetizer, meal and dessert. It would be more than enough for us to share.
Legally, no. That said, I don't think you'll have a problem with sharing a meal as long as it's not at a buffet, etc.
You can definitely "share"-the way you are describing-you order with your dxdp and pay oop for what Mom wants. Done it many times with my boys(teens at the time) and myself.
Other than buffets and family style stuff, the only places I've heard of it being a problem is Via Napoli-with pizza in particular. There just seems to be alot of "no, can't do that" at VN. I'll be able to see in person in September.

Thanks y'all. We are on the deluxe plan. We don't mind paying, just wanted to are if we could share.
At Disney owned restaurants, it seems as though for the most part servers allow sharing as long as the person not on the dining plan orders something for themselves. Some may insist on more than a drink, like maybe a starter salad, while others won't care. At non-Disney owned restaurants you're more likely to encounter a refusal to allow you to share. Of course if you order your mom an inexpensive appetizer and don't mention anything about sharing, it's not like a server will remove the plate if she does pull some food off of your plate onto hers.
I don't know that this is perfectly logical - but think about it this way. The dining plan is keyed to an individual, just like a park ticket. Would you think it was okay to share your park ticket with someone else? Probably not - and for similar reasons, the dining plan isn't meant to be shared. I personally don't care if people share their dining plan food, but I can understand why Disney would not want to encourage it.

Ah-totally missed the part that Mom wasn't on the dining plan at all. However, agree with Trudy, as long as whom ever isn't on the dining plan orders something for themselves(and therefore pays oop for it), then I haven't had a problem "sharing" in the way described.
I ordered a salad and an adult beverage-boys ordered what ever they were entitled to on the ddp-and we all shared once it got to the table. To pay, CM was given one of the boys cards(to prevent charging accidently) and cash and/or gift cards to pay for whatever wasn't covered on ddp.
Worked every TS place we tried.
