What is the point of the shrimp exactly?

It's the 1/3 Pound Angus Cheeseburger with Shrimp (Surf and Turf Cheeseburger) ($10.39) from ABC Commissary. There are just three fried shrimp attached to the top. Is there anything you can do other than simply pluck them off the top and eat them? The burger doesn't come with anything special that would pertain to a reason as to why there would be three shrimp attached to the top. It isn't like there's a special seafood sauce and it doesn't come with cocktail sauce or anything. It's "literally" their usual hamburger with three shrimp stuck to the top.

Why?

I think because it's the kind of thing entitled movie stars would order off menu?

It's one of multiple new specialty burgers introduced this year - so I can't answer for the shrimp question but I think the other ones were a little odd too from what I recall. I read the write up on the Disney Food Blog, I think, or maybe even a posting from Disney Parks on Facebook.

Yeah, I've had the one at the Caribbean Beach too. Pineapple makes a little more sense.

Somehow, compared to this, that actually makes sense.

Maybe they are supposed to be placed inside the hamburger and I was just too thick (no pun intended) to pick up on that

Onion rings yes. Tempura shrimp, no.

On a related note, the BBQ Slaw Dog at Casey's was a miss. Might have been better, but the dog/pork wasn't super hot, and the cold slaw just made everything meh.

The shrimp were 90% as good as the shrimp at Columbia Harbour House, just not as big. Maybe they should just start doing shrimp.

Or anything else.

Looks like an improvement on their other food, so I will take it, whatever the purpose may be. LOL

My original intention was to get the Chicken Curry to compare it to the Cantina de San Angel meal, but it just looked so gross :RpS_sad::RpS_sad:

There's a reason why Pizza Planet is usually busy and ABC Commissary is usually not so busy, and it isn't because the pizza is so good at Pizza Planet.

Well, you can't call it a surf and turf without some seafood somewhere. But, skewered to the top? That's silly.

Officially it's "crowned with shrimp"

But, it's shrimp. Who cares what the point is? That's like asking what the point of bacon is - if you have to ask, you just don't get it.

Seriously, though - no clue. It's bizarre - but if it tastes good, it would be an improvement on what they normally serve.

If they wrapped the shrimp in bacon, I would definitely buy it.

We had this same burger last week!! The shrimp tasted better than the burger.

I just want to take this opportunity to point out that my local deli is having "Camp Bacon" this summer.

Its a step in the right direction to mix things up at ABC. I love the location for the ac and the palm trees.
