Is it for Verizon only, or anyone?

Agreed on the Android version. I'm sick of Disney ignoring the Android crowd. NONE of their apps (Except Mobile Magic) are written for Droid. Ridiculous, especially now that Android dominates market share.

I got it last night for my iPhone. I'm having fun playing around with it! It'll be interesting to see it in action when we're there in September. I hope I'm chosen to do some testing!

Points of interest:
- it shows stand-by times and fast pass return times (WITHOUT having to be in the park to see them)
- it shows the times guides for the day
- has a full map of Disney property
- you have to log in (Disney.com log in) to see some things and use some features
- it seems like if you are in the park it has a feature that allows you to see attractions, restaurants, and recreation options that are near you
- the most interesting thing (to me anyway) is that the app icon and home button within the app have the same Mickey logo as the fastpass+ check in post that were seen during the fastpass+ testing (mickey silhouette outlined with a circle around it)
Anyone else notice anything?

Installed it yesterday on my iPhone. Seems cool. I can sit here in NY & see that waits for TSMM are 100 minutes with no FPs available. The map is nicely drawn. And I love the wish list!
One peeve: I don't get why most of the characters are listed under "entertainment" rather than in the characters section. For instance, the only characters listed in MK are Tiana and Naveen! But then if you click on entertainment you see the others. Odd.

That's funny, because when I go in, I see a wait time of 70 minutes and FP Return 7:30 - 8:30 for TSMM. According to this, ToT is 110 with FP 7:25 - 8:25 while RnR is "only" 90 minutes with FP Return 3:50-4:50. I thought RnR would have longer wait times/return times unless they had an issue with ToT today.
I had the same observation on the characters. They can be found under the times guide as well as the entertainment, but under neither attractions or characters. There are probably other ways to get there, but from the Home screen, you can swipe to the second screen which has the times guide. When you select the "see today's full times guide" you can filter for park etc. The character meet and greet times show up there. I didn't see the wait time or FP return for MM or Princesses, just the location and times they would be available. Same as from entertainment. It would be nice if they had the wait and return times for the meet and greets available. Maybe I just missed it.

Does the app give you access to any of your reservation information, including Dining reservations? I know you can make a dining reservation from the app, but if I am logged into my account, I would expect to be able to pull up my ADR's as well as resort information. I can't see it available, but then again, I don't have an existing reservation so maybe that's why?

I do have reservations and tied the app with my disney.com account and I can't see anything listing outstanding reservations. So, I would say no, at this point it doesn't do that.

That's too bad. Future enhancement already!
It will be interesting to see how this evolves. I wonder if Disney will try to incorporate this and other planning tools folks us. You could enter your touring plan and have it automatically include your ADR's for example. If/when they allow requesting FP's remotely, they could be available to diplay/include with the plan and you could actually track everything together in one place. You could pull up your plan, see your ADR's FP's etc, then review the wait times, rides down, etc. with real time info. Probably overkill, but since their are so many people doing this off line with spreadsheets, lamintated cards, passporters, etc. already, it would be really cool to have it all together in one place combinable with the real time Disney information.

Man, it seems like most of the cool featues require a GPS which my iPod Touch does not have.
I wish it listed the menus for the restaurants. That would be really helpful. Guess I'll still have to use another app for that.

Can anyone find Haunted Mansion on their app? I can't seem to find it. Maybe I'm missing something.

Can you elaborate on what app gives you the menus for WDW?

I found it in the iTunes app store. It's called WDW Dining. The logo is a plate with the castle in the middle and a spoon and fork to each side. It's awesome. Breaks down each park and resort with full menus. It also includes carts and stands. The other thing I like is the key that tells you whether it's on the dining plan, TIW, etc.

The app seems to be about 15 minutes behind and the only way I can find to refresh it is to exit and come back in. Will post more when we get back to the rental

I believe they have an issue with caching on the wait times. If I exit the app and go back in, is still shows the same wait times as the last time I was there, even the next morning. Even when I navigate to another park and come back , it is still stale data. If I go in and set a random filter and force a new query, it usually updates the information. It will be interesting to see how accurate (current) these wait times turn out to be.

I'm surprised, since thier old app (Mobile Magic) has basic menu info. I have to believe that will be added.

It has to be that they are testing and working out the "bugs". I'm sure there are many upgrades in our future.

That's my guess too, considering they haven't really gone out of their way to advertise the new app yet.

The app is still in Beta. More features will be rolled out in the coming months.
