View Full Version : If you won the lottery....

Hello there. I've been having a bit of a daydream about what I'm going to do when I win the lottery and this sort of got me googling extravagant things like VIP guided tours at WDW.
Has any one heard anything about how good these are - both the official Disney ones and the unofficial companies?
I couldn't make up my mind whether as a first time visitor it would be better to use the services of say some one like our Christine or whether a personal VIP guide would be the way to go. Or, do you use a combination of both?
Now, I'm talking about winning multi-millions of pounds (yes i'm from the UK), so I'm planning on a 4 week holiday - a week or so in the Polynesian - not sure which suite, and then maybe moving onto AKL? 3 weeks at the parks, including the Universal parks and SeaWorld and then a week on one of the new cruise liners in a top suite.
As you can see I like to plan even my daydreams in fine detail lol.
So, what will you do at WDW when you win the lottery?
Go to Tokyo DisneySea :RpS_love:
For the VIP Guide, you would want the Disney one that drives you around and walks you through the FASTPASS entrance. I'd probably rent out one of the parks for my friends/family/the people of this website instead though. You can do Hollywood Studios for not a ton of money. Like 75k would get you a pretty good time.

I'm pretty blessed with a good life, ample savings in the bank, nice creature comforts. Besides not working (as much), the only thing that could make my life easier would be a fractional share in a private jet.

Oooooo......I like the private jet!!!!
I'll admit......my Disney expenditure would definitely involve getting more DVC points. We have 325 right now but would really like to have about 1000. That should cover all of our trips!!!

That's sort of where we are now.
We'd really only need about a million- even a bit less would do
DH would retire effective immed (planning on next year so that's not a huge change).
We'd get rid of both of our cars and buy 2 new ones.
Probably buy DD a condo in DC so we won't have to worry about the annual phone call mid-year when her fellowship $$ runs out (I need you to pay my rent this month)
We'd do about a week at Disney for F&W.
Then we'd start traveling the world on George's private jet. First stop would be to visit Disneyland Paris Princess in Scotland LOL

Oh, I would so go to Tokyo Disney!
I don't know if I'd do the VIP thing at any park because we usually don't like other people around, but if we did, I'd go for the Disney version (no fastpass worries).
I would sell 2 cars, 1 truck and 2 motorcycles and buy 1 new car, 1 newer truck, 2 new motorcycles (with loads of farkles!!).
I won't need a part share in a jet, I'll just borrow George's and pay for the gas!

I don't think I'd even want a Golden Oak residence. They all scream "Tacky Florida" to me, on a larger scale. I've been in contact with the sales center, contemplating an investment, but I just didn't like the floor plans or the restrictive design elements. Guess I should have expected that with Disney. But I am going to make an appointment to see the sales center while I'm down in November on my Realtors convention, just for curiosity's sake.
Now if I could design my own house on WDW property.... But I probably wouldn't want to do that either, since I really don't like Florida at all except for WDW. I'm also over big houses and cars; been there, done that. I'm getting into my simple and easy phase. Which is where the private jet fits in. :RpS_biggrin:

I dont mean to hijack anyone's lottety dreams, but does anyone know what comes with that VIP other than fastpasses (as if that isnt enough...lol). My FiL (who has the $) said he will only go to WDW with us if we get one. Hes not a snob, he just has trouble getting around and is too proud for an EVC. Also, does anyone know how many can be in your group? It would be 11 of us.

You will be astonished to know that I did indeed have a win on the lottery last night for which I am truly grateful......

A good friend of mine told me recently, if money is your only problem you do not really have problems. I like that! However, I would go on a two week vacation to WDW with the kiddos, stay in a suite in a deluxe resort, and probably move back to California. As long as DH could retire and work at a golf course, he'd be cool with that.

I won £8.50, which is nearly enough to pay for a taxi to the airport. Every little helps!!!!

We just won the lottery just recently. A whole $16.:RpS_biggrin:
If we won the big jackpot the first thing that would happen would be for DH to quit his job but not until after he had a little fun telling people his real opinion about things. His conference calls would be a lot of fun and he would drop off his company car loaded with all his work crap in his bosses neighborhood and then email him a riddle that he would have to figure out in order to find the car. At some point in one of his conversations with his boss he would say the line from the movie Office Space "It's not that I'm lazy it's that I just don't care." After that we would make sure the kids had plenty of money for college. We would sell the house and move but not sure where. We would also buy new cars. As far as Disney goes I'm not really sure what we would do.

Us either - except for Key West, which is very cool. The drive out there, not so much (again, where your plane would come in handy).

Ann, You made me really LOL !!
My DH is so ready to retire. He tells people he does not want or need job security. If they'd just offer him the "package" he'd be gone in a heartbeat.
I don't like Florida either- only Disney World.

I would stay in every Disney resort 2 to 3 weeks each and stay in the castle, eat everywhere, and see/ride everything. I would take 1,000 dollars cash to each park everyday and give 10 people 100.00, I'd but all the baloons and give them away everyday. I would pay for trips for children oganizations to have a WDW vacation. I would blow it all but I'd try to take as many people along with me as I could. :RpS_lol:

So there must be someone doing that everyday as there's always a crowd. :RpS_wink:
I won the lottery last week and again on Wednesday but I've spent it all now. :RpS_sad:
(I used to go to school with an Anne Thomas - she got run over at 16 and missed all her exams, not very lucky - she's all right now though).

I think the idea of giving away $100 bills to strangers would be so fun!
