Hi everyone! there ARE lots of smilies!
Hi Cee!!! :welcome:
We LOVE our smilies over here!!!! Some that we just use at random because I have no idea when you'd really use them.....like this one: :flypig: or this one: :spider: or maybe even this one: :playball:
Is that a flying pig? I guess it is called "flypig" so it must be one. I can imagine some instances where that would be useful.
Janine

A pig?? Well then I guess you are right.....there can be a use for that!!! But when does a :panda: come up in normal convo?? I guess if you go to National Zoo??
Brenda, :playball: is what you do so that you don't get :ban2:
Ahhh.....well that makes sense!!!! So is this :fish: what you do when you want :banplease:??
That's a weird looking pig...:RpS_unsure:
Agreed!!! Almost as weird as the :llama:

So, this one time I was walking along and there was this :panda:. The :panda: was so cute and cuddly, but, alas, it was mean and wanted to eat me.
I personally challenge someone to use the :alien: smiley, as I think it's less useful than the :panda:. But perhaps that's because I like :panda:s better than :alien:s.

OK......so here is my attempt: DH is such a sci-fi fan. He likes anything with :alien:s in it. Star Wars :starwars:? :alien:s. Star Trek? :alien: Dr. Who? :alien:s. Stargate? :alien:s.......and the list goes on. You'd think that he'd get tired of :alien:s but nope......he just keeps finding more and more :alien:s. Oh well......it could be worse.......he could be obsessed with :bananalama:!! (Wait......is that an :alien: llama that banana is riding on?!?!?

Seriously. I happen to know I have a sister-in-law with a sister who SHOULD be researching Disney cruises.
lisapennie
04-28-2011, 12:28 AM
Yeah - since I'm fairly certain it would be more likely that :flypig: would come out of my tush than that my iLs would actually search out something related to Disney, I can pretty safely complain away on here. And honestly - my SiL has made no bones about the fact that she doesn't like me (I actually blocked her on FB because of some stuff she pulled two years ago, and no, I haven't forgiven her and have no intention of doing so), so I don't think it would come as a shock to anyone in DH's family that they aren't my favorite people.

I must admit. I actually really like my in-laws. I think if we were to take polls more guys are ok with their in-laws than the ladies.
My husband loves my family - my mom lives with us, so I'm pretty sure he's not just being nice. I really wish I liked my iLs - but since they tried to talk Kent out of marrying me and his sister has been nothing but nasty, it's really hard to do so. I'm not a terribly forgiving person, so it's kind of hard for me to ignore the stuff they've pulled over the years. Beyond that - I don't think they're very nice to my husband either, and that's just unforgivable in my book. If you want to dislike me and be nasty to me, that's one thing - but your own kid? That's cold. I grew up in a family where I was raised to believe that you should bend over backwards for family, and to see such a different dynamic in his family bothers me.

My MIL told DH at the wedding that she liked my entire family a lot, except for me. Of course, I realize it didn't help that the first time she met me in person was the day before the wedding. (We were just out of grad school and broke, so we didn't have the money or time we could take off work to go from NYC to FL to visit.) Then again, had she met me earlier, it might have made things worse. :RpS_biggrin:
