Hi,
I would never ask this on the “D” boards, but recently learned about this site. My brother, his wife and his child purchased season tickets back in 2007 while on a trip with us. When I looked at the back of the tickets later in the trip I noticed it said they were valid through 8/21/21. They were only supposed to be good through 8/21/08. When we went to the parks with them again in 2009, to our surprise, they still worked. This was a full year after they should have expired. Has anybody else encountered anything similar and continued to use them? 13921393

I've seen errors in the end dates of APs, including my own - once they made my AP end the day after I bought it and I had to correct it before leaving the window. So I know it is a manual entry. In your family's case, it looks like an error was made by the CM typing it in.
I really don't know what I would do. If they've been using them since 2007, I would probably continue to try to use them (seems very unethical and makes me feel a bit icky, but I'm trying to be honest). I highly doubt they will get 9 more years out of them without Disney majorly changing something about ticketing that might make them not work, or cause them to have to go to Guest Relations with them for some reason (e.g., demagnetized) and at that time, someone would surely notice that they were issued in 2007 and had a validity period of 14 years! Then, I think the jig will be up.

This is one of those "Jiminy Cricket" moments...

I'd turn them in, both in the sense that I think you should turn them in and that I actually would turn them in. I may, however, hint that maybe I should get something for my honesty?

Exactly. I know what I would do but just because I would do it doesn't mean that someone else would. If you feel comfortable continuing to use them....then do so...it was Disney's error. But if it makes you feel uncomfortable and you are going to feel guilty about it, etc....then turn them in. Vicki is correct that they likelihood that the error will end up being caught long before 2021 is really high. But again.....do whatever you feel comfortable doing.

Yeah, that'll happen. Do it for your own integrity, not for money-grubbing Disney. Hey, they've recently eliminated the age 3-9 discount on AP's. Nothing like sticking it to your most loyal customers. If you turn it in, you'll be setting a great example for your kids. Disney, on the other hand, deserves NO concern, but your integrity does. Like Vickie C says, you may feel icky; that's integrity talking.

Just to circle back to the beginning - the tickets don't belong to the OP (who hasn't stopped back in 3 days so I guess we're all debating among ourselves) - they belong to his brother's family.

You know, it occurs to me that this might be the test case to see just how long those Tyvek tickets could last!
