View Full Version : Hollywood Studios - What am I missing?
So I'm making a list of rides/attractions that we will visit at Hollywood Studios and the list seems rather short
Toy Story Mania
Muppet 3D
Pixar Parade
Fantasmic
Lunch at Pizza Planet (kid request)
Meet 'n greet at Al's Toy Barn and Monster's Inc
Intentional omissions:
Tower of Terror
Rock n Roller Coaster
Anything and everything Star Wars
It seems like I'm missing a ton of stuff but I'm not sure what I missed. We may add a live show to list (Beauty or Little Mermaid) but neither of those seem to be must dos.
A little help would be appreciated

We do very much enjoy the Animation Drawing Studio. Not the tour-- but the actual Drawing. And we like the Citizens of Hollywood sketches that go on Sunset and Hollywood.
Theres Disney Rocks and Ai, and VOTLM and GMR. One Man's Dream-- just because it is all about Walt, and hey-- it is his place! Mulch Sweat and Shears is a great band.
I think the only park that comes out smelling like a rose when you list 'rides' is MK. The other parks are much more about the total experience. A ride here, a show there, an small scale experience tossed in....

Great Movie Ride? All of us really liked that last visit and an easy one to get fit in in the afternoon.
Indiana Jones and Lights, Motor Action if you haven't seen them?

Meet 'n greet at Al's Toy Barn and Monster's Inc
Just wanted to point out that Al's Toy Barn is now Luigi's Garage- with CARs
If you want Buzz and Woody they now have their own M&G across from TSM

Some of the things you skipped that I would recommend:
* Lights, Motors, Action - Incredible car/stunt show
* Indiana Jones - Great stunt show
* Beauty and the Beast - good production
* Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground - if your kids are asking for Pizza Planet, they would probably enjoy this as well.
* Backlot Tour - Not overly impresive, but definitely worth doing once.
* Parade - If you like parades, the one at DHS is pretty good.
Thanks for the help. We may add Beauty and the Beast or Little Mermaid to the list. I should have added the stunt shows to the intentional omission list. My wife isn't a big fan of stunt shows.
In the grand scheme Hollywood Studios may wind up being a morning - lunch trip followed by a nap and then on to Mickey's Christmas. Fantasmic and Osbourne Lights will come later in the week as part of a dinner package.

I am surprised FANTASMIC wasn't suggested more. The Animation Academy is great and gives you a very personal and FREE souvenir with the character you draw. Don't forget a great buffet at Hollywood and Vine and great signature dining at Brown Derby!

It sounds like you're going in Nov/Dec if you're talking Osbourne Lights. By then, the "Lights, Motors, Action" stunt show is supposed to include Lightning McQueen from Cars versus Herbie the Love Bug. Depending on the age of your kids, that might make a difference. We've seen the show once and it's not a "do every time" for us (like F!), but we'll see it again when Lightning joins the action. Additionally, if your kids are still young enough, the Disney Junior show is enjoyable. VOTLM is also a nice show.

Agree with what others have said. I dont think there is any way we can avoid VotLM this time with an almost 3 year old girl.
