We will be staying 6 nights at WDW, September 1-7. It’s me, my mom, and two sons (ages 7 and 11). I’m looking at staying at French Quarter OR splitting a stay between Pop and Beach Club. We've never stayed onsite. We will have a car available.
If we split, we will check in to BCR on Tuesday, 9/4 (a breakday) and check out late on Friday, 9/7. Our park days are Sunday (DHS), Monday (EPCOT), Wednesday(MK), and Thursday(??) with recommended parks each day and some hopping at night 'to be determined" (Military 4 day with PH).
Any help making this decision??? Price difference is minimal.
Thanks!

Personally, I would not want to put four people in a Value (with its double beds), even for just three nights. I know people do it, but I'm not one of them.

I agree on the double beds part. Also, I really dislike switching hotels. I much prefer to unpack my stuff and have a good time. However, I would like to stay at Beach CLub because of Stormalong Bay. If my kids wanted to hit the Beach Club pool, I'd sacrifice my desire to settle in to the hotel, suck it up and switch rooms. Hope this is helpful!:RpS_thumbsup:

I agree, plus I wouldn't want to deal with transferring hotels

I love split stays-
I love the POP and I love BC...so guess where I am going with this...
But I do agree about the POP being small-any way you can spring for an adjoining room? If not I still think I would do POP/BC. Your boys are going to love the food court/arcade/and pool at POP (and it is very easy to drive to) and the BC will blow them away-awesome arcade, pool, beaches and cream etc...Do it- pack light and be organized!!!
Because you will have a car the transfer is in your trunk-take your bags with you- if you run out of room in the trunk have them transfer one bag of laundry.

I wouldn't do it normally, but since you have your own car, I think I'd definitely do the split stay, as long as you can deal with 4 people in two double beds at Pop!

Oh, decisions decisions...
One minute I'm convinced to do one thing then the next another. The transfer doesn't bother me. I'm in a suburban so definitely have the "trunk room". I'm concerned about the rooms at pop. I really would like to stay at BCR but am trying to save money since my husband isn't going. Hate to spend so much when he won't even be there to enjoy it. (although he'll have the week to himself playing golf so that is a pretty good vacation for him).
Thanks for the replies. We still have some time to decide, I guess.

I'm with Terri......LOVE POP, Love BC and even enjoy moving during the trip (as long as I can have a move day without worrying about getting to parks, etc.)
I've stayed in Pop with 4 adults in the room and we have been fine. And, since you are only doing it for 3 nights....I really say go for it. And....if your DH is getting to enjoy a fun week of golf....you should get to enjoy the resorts without guilt!!

Quick question that may help make my decision...
We will transfer Tuesday morning during our "break day". Can we go ahead and enjoy the pool while we wait for our room? Example: we arrive before lunch but check in is not until 3.
Thanks!

Yes, you'll be able to enjoy the pool, just tell the folks at check-in that you'd like to do so even if your room isn't ready (which it might be).

Have you looked into renting points from a DVC owner? You could probably get a one bedroom at BCV for about the same price as your split stay...(unless you're getting the military room discount).

We did split stay the last time we were there and they will move your bags for you... We splitPOFQ and WL.... We were much happier with POFQ. You basically have 2 resorts in one there bc POFQ and PORS are so close! My suggestion is just stay at POFQ. We loved it. The pools, the food court, everything! We will probably not stay anywhere else! FYI always board buses at the FQ bus stop! First on and first off! Just a hint! Have fun planning!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I've decided to stick with POFQ. Keeping It simple. Glad you had such a good experience KatieMac1875.
