Buena Vista Palace @ DTD

Just got a great rate for the week after Easter (April 11-15) at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel and Spa. Travelzoo had a great promo today - $99 per night including the resort fee and breakfast for 2 each day.
Reviews online look pretty good, the hotel is right across the street from DTD and honestly paying $250 a night for a moderate at WDW isn't really in the budget this trip.

We will have a rental car and are DVC members as well as AP holders so the WDW parking is free.

Any downside to this? We are a small family (mom, dad and a 5 yr old) so we don't need a huge condo or rental house. We are actually going into OKW for the second half of the week so I can get my on-property fix then.

Any feedback? Good or bad I would love to hear your opinions.

I've never stayed at that hotel, but the location is great. Since you'll have a car you shouldn't have any worries.

Just got back from our stay at the Buena Vista Palace - it was a great deal for the money. The property is directly across from DTD, maybe a 5 minute walk and you are right by the Marketplace. They provide shuttles (we didn't take as we had a car) and the room was clean, the beds were fantastic.

The only thing I could say as a downside is that it is a bit of a convention hotel and you don't get all of the Disney magic..but just cross the street and you have it right there!

Nice staff, pool was fine, and the price ($99 per night including resort fees and daily breakfast on the Travelzoo deal) was right. We stayed 4 nights and then moved to our DVC unit at Old Key West. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again in the future.

Yeah, it sounds like a great hotel to start out a vacation with if you can't get your DVC dates or want to save some money. Or for the whole trip for that matter.
