POFQ is one of my favorite resorts and I find the new rooms to be pleasant. The colors and theming blend well with the rest of the resort. I suppose by ugly rooms you mean the colors and fabrics, carpet, etc. and not just the layout (which is similar in all the moderates). We just got back yesterday from POFQ and it was a great stay. I think the hype over that resort could be the small size, boat to DtD, one of the first to get the rooms modded to queen beds (after CSR) and now the free internet.

I really like this observation. It is so easy to look at a picture of a room without seeing the "whole resort" picture and think that it is ugly. I guess that I've never thought about that aspect before but will from now on. It is kind of amazing how a room that looks "ugly" on its own can be really pretty when looked at in the over all setting.

POFQ is our favorite resort. Before our first stay there, I thought the pics made the colors look bold and maybe even garish, but in real life, it's lovely. I love the small atmosphere of the whole place. Fountains, nooks, gardens. It is my Disney home away from home. I've stayed at POR, POFQ, CSR, and Pop, and have visited most of the deluxes...but given my choice, this is where I'd stay! And I'm planning a BWV vacation for me and my IL's right now. I know it will be great but it won't be "home."
