I have to admit, part of the confusion was self-inflicted, but I think it all worked out...

We were supposed to go on a Dec WDW trip with some friends (we leave tomorrow) so we had made room reservations at Beach Club (two rooms, both under my account) for Fri the 9th thru Tue the 13th. Then our friends were "iffy" due to work, so we decided we'd maybe go Thurs to Monday instead if we ended up going solo. So I made a third reservation, this time a studio at BCV. Well, it turns out we're going solo and on the original Fri to Tue schedule. About a week or so ago, DW calls and cancels the second room for Fri-Tue as well as the Thurs-Mon room at BCV. The deposits are to be applied to our remaining room, so we'll owe just a little bit at check-in. Cool.

So, I look yesterday night and we still have the BCV reservation! We're supposed to check in today! Well, after multiple phone calls and lots of time on the phone, DW finally gets us back to one room and now we're Fri-Tue at BCV. I think we're paying $12 more than we would at regular BC, so I bet it's worth it. We'll see tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to being able to walk to EPCOT and DHS.

Crazy! Glad you did get it worked out. Gotta love trying to work with others, so many things change and make life so much more complex than it needs to be.

Walking to Hollywood Studios is fun until you realize how far it is :RpS_laugh:

The last thing I want to do is walk MORE during my WDW vacation. I'd be taking the boat! (There is a boat, right?)

The walk from the east end of BC to IG is too much for me. :RpS_rolleyes:

There is a boat but it doesn't start running early enough to get you to DHS "belly up" RD

My wife and I did that walk one morning from BCV to DHS and I do NOT want to do it again!! It was a brisk 20 plus minute walk on a vacation where I was already doing plenty of walking. I was sweating by the time I got there! I think there should be a bus from BC to DHS at least in the early AM so you don't have to hoof it to get there early for RD if you don't want to.

The problem with the boat, particularly in the summer, is that it's not well air-conditioned and has virtually no ventilation - just a doorway in the front and an opening in the back. And it's covered, so no real breeze either. Honestly, I found myself wishing I was walking a couple of times this past summer and that's when the "actual temp" was above 90 with a "RealFeel" north of 110.

To Epcot-- yes! To DS? No! At 8, start walking -- look over your shoulder towards Epcot. You should see the boats approaching when you near Swan.. Meet them at the Swan/dolphin dock. Ride the rest of the way.
In a perfect world, that should work. It worked for us when we stayed a BC.

It was early enough for me when the park opened at 9:00. I remember being on the boat by 8:00, at the park and through bag check by 8:35.

You got BELLY UP by going through bag check at 8:35? When was that, because when I go I get to the turnstiles by 8:10 and a few people are already there. I can guarantee you that (when I've been there) people who arrive at 8:35 bag check aren't getting anywhere near the turnstiles nor are they getting in front of me or the throngs of others behind me unless they do some serious maneuvering/pushing.
