View Full Version : Fantasy Land, Soft Opening?

Anyone have a thought about whether there will be a soft opening of the early Fantasyland stuff (Dumbos/Train)? Right now it appears to be scheduled right around the President's Week madness. We will be there a week prior and I am hoping that they just might open early. I know when Soarin first opened, they had a soft opening as well because we actually got to ride it then. I think they were doing that for a few weeks, if I remember right, to get all of the kinks out. Obviously no one knows for sure, but I thought maybe the Disney "experts" would have a guess? :RpS_biggrin:

Probably. There is no official opening date in the first place, so it's difficult to gauge when a "soft opening" would occur. It's going to be weird passing walled off areas to get to the Fantasyland section that will likely open sometime in late February/early March. Not sure what they're going to do about that.

They have Dumbo closed for refurbishment from January 9th - February 17th. The thought is that they may be ready to open some of Fantasyland, including Dumbo and Great Goofini, at that time.

...and so if Dumbo will be "open" by 2/17, it will have to be in its "new" place. Or, at least one of them will. The new spinner's arms are already in place in the new location.

I've heard the 2/17 date for the "new" Dumbo to be in place, which is why I am hoping for a "soft" opening before we leave on the 10th! Maybe a long shot, but a girl can dream!
