Making out a 1 day tour of HS for our family, which is mostly young kids (DD4, DD3, DD1) and trying to decide whether to include PD. We have (happily) not had cable for about a year now, so I doubt my kids have any clue who Handy Manny etc., are but they (obviously) know who Mickey, Minnie and the gang are. So my question is, with just one day at HS, should we include PD?

Thanks!!:RpS_biggrin:

For that age group, I would say yes. Mostly because there's not a whole lot else for that age group, so I think you'll have time.
Its a fun little show (my DD5 loved it).

My kids love it as well at 8 and 5. I would say absolutely yes.

My DS6 & DD5 loved it, and even my DS9 liked it (after looooving it when he was DS2). Honestly, apart from Disney Junior (new name of Playhouse Dis), there is not much for kids below 5 yrs to do at HS.

I agree. HS doesn't have a ton for this age group so you might as well do the show. It's geared towards kids that age and it's interactive so they can stand up and bounce around.

Thanks for the input, everyone  As much as I was hoping you would tell me not to include it, I guess this show will stay in our itinerary. :RpS_rolleyes: It was really mostly selfishness on my part b/c, while I love all the disney princess movies, etc., I have absolutely no interest in The Little Einsteins or Handy Manny, etc.. But I can endure of my DDs will love it.

Don't miss it! Honestly I find very little for my DD (now 5) to do a DHS. The Disney junior show is one of our "must do's". Basically it is about a 20 minute show, you sit on the floor (which is not good for 45 year old mom!) and they have 4 short numbers with Einsteins, Handy Manny, Jake and the Neverland Pirates (our favorite), and Mickey.
Perfect for preschoolers- what's not to like? Bubbles come out of the ceiling, gold doubloons and confetti rain down on you. Kids can get up and dance -it is really one of the best things there for little ones.

One warning - beware the Honey I shrunk the Kids Playground - three little ones in there will be tough to monitor them all at once. I was there with my DD when she was about 2 1/2 and I couldn't tell what tunnel or slide she was coming out of. Lost her for a minute or 2 and it was nervewracking! Found the same issue in the Boneyard at AK. Now she is 5 I can relax a bit more but when she was a toddler it was not easy to keep track of her and I on'y have the one!

It really depends on your kids. We did it in Jan '10 with kids ages 11 months, 3, and 6 and it was a flop. I didn't find it enjoyable either. We don't have cable and my kids didn't know many of the characters so that factors in. My kids did like the Disney Live show that's in the street though both times - despite not having cable. We found plenty to do to fill a day with my crew in 2010. There was lots of things that my kids enjoyed last time, including the 3 year old. We just returned from our last trip and really needed 1.5 days there, but the kids are now a little older. I was happy to get to skip the Disney Jr show. There was plenty for the 2 year old to do on this last trip.

DH took our then 2yo DS to it while the big kids and I were doing star wars stuff last trip. We also don't have cable, so they didn't know any of the characters, but DH said DS loved it- dancing, jumping around, etc.

As for what my kids enjoy there, even the 2 year old this last trip or 3 year old the trip before:
*Star Tours (40" height requirement, but my older two both made it at 3)
*Skip Tower of Terror - though my 3 year old of the moment did want to do it and did do it on our 2010 trip
*Toy Story Mania - grab fastpasses and do it first so you can do it twice that day. The 2 year old would have been happy doing that ride all day
*Fantasmic - All enjoyed
*Lights, Motor, Action - Skipped this time due to time but enjoyed it last time. It now uses the Cars movie car instead of Herbie
*Meet Phineas and Ferb - Despite no cable, we do have computer. All three kids loved meeting them.
*Beauty and the Beast - All enjoyed
*Disney Channel Rocks - Short live show in the street that they like
*Indiana Jones - All kids loved on both trips
*Great Movie Ride - Didn't do in 2010 trip but they all enjoyed it this recent trip
*Muppet Vision - All enjoyed both trips
*Little Mermaid - No time this trip but enjoyed in 2010 trip
*Backlot Tour - I'd skip that with your crew. Skipped it 2010 trip and went over fine this trip, but more for older kids
*Honey I shrunk the kids playground - Of course enjoyed that! Agree with splitting adults up to stay with the kids better
*Disney Jr show - Skipped this time, was a flop last time and I didn't see any need to do it again
