Question on split stay/same resort - best way to accomplish move on Christmas day

I will be staying a OKW on an RCI exchange, then I extended it by 2 days by renting points. My week is in a 1BR and the 2 extra days are in a studio. I've read up and the move process seems straight forward and I know Disney will move my bags for me. But my moving day will be Christmas day. I really want to be at MK before park opening. We're going to get in early, ride a few rides then have breakfast at Crystal Palace, just to say we were at MK on Christmas.

But with having to move that day, I'm not sure the best way to get it all done. Can I send my bags down at 6am then head to the parks and re-check in after breakfast? Or should I try to get it all done early?

Yes, you can send your bags down anytime. You could even have Bell Services pick them up the night before and just have a carryon to give them in the morning to save time. I don't see why you can't checkin in before you leave (you're room will most likely not be ready, but you could get your new KTTW cards). Or you could wait until later in the morning. Whatever makes you the most comfortable with how early you have to get up. What time does MK open on Christmas? I think (and I've been known to be wrong on a fair few occasions...) MK opens at 7 am on Christmas day. Bare this in mind when thinking of how much you want to do before you leave in the a.m. Make sure you have express checkout so you can just call when you are leaving. Or you can check out/in together...

We did this during our Christmas 2009 trip. We wanted to make it to RD on our move day. RD was I think at 7am since I'm pretty sure it was the day after Christmas and I know we went to MK that day. We called to arrange for pickup of our stuff by bell services to be at I think around 5:30am. We had no trouble getting to RD on time.

Great to hear from someone who's already done this. I will make sure we have express check out, and plan on having the bags picked up between 5 and 5:30 since it is a 7am opening that day.

Just to make sure I'm clear, we arranged for the pickup by calling bell services the day before. If we had have called that morning I'm not sure what time pickup would have been.
