In the past, we had always booked our theme park tickets with our room tickets, so we used our KTTW card for everything. Now, we have seperate tickets purchased through the conference site. They look like a gift card. How does it work? Is it the same as the KTTW card? On our first swipe, we do the fingerprint and after that just swipe and fingerprint? Do we use that for fastpass machines? I don't want to be "that person" at rope drop not knowing what to do!

Also, if we decide to upgrade to park hopper, how do we do that?

I haven't had conference tickets, but I bought tickets from UT last time.

Yep, just use them like you did with KTTW- fingerprint and swipe, they work in FP machines, everything. I've been told to photocopy the back, so that if we lose them, Disney can replace them. (With a KTTW, you don't have to, since Disney already has your info.)

I don't know about upgrading. Haven't done that yet. lol

Some tickets aren't upgradeable- I don't know about conference tickets.

If they are upgradable, you can do that at Guest Services at any park. You "may" be able to do it at the concierge desk at your resort too but I cant remember for sure. Guest services at each park are just outside the turnstiles. I think there is also one inside each park too, but we always go to GS first before we enter, so Im not sure where the other locations are.

You will need to check with your conference to see if they are upgradable. Some are and some aren't but I think that most aren't. You'll want to know that before you go. If they are upgradable, you can do it at Guest services (as Rhonda mentioned) and as confirmation...you can do it at your resort. If you aren't able to find out before you go, you can ask them at the resort about whether it can be upgraded or not. I'd hate for you to waste time at a park only to find you can't.

I am pretty sure they are - it was an option to buy park hoppers when I bought the tickets, but I will call and confirm.
