When is a good time to buy tickets? I am going to get ours from Undercover Tourist.
This may sound crazy, but if we leave halfway through the day (get our hands stamped) and the kids swim and we come back, the stamp won't come off swimming will it?
And this may sound even crazier, but if my mom's fingerprint won't scan, what do you do? She is a nurse and her fingerprint will not scan for the pharmacy system at work so she has to have a code to use instead...pretty odd, so I am doubting Disney's will work. What does she need to know/do to be prepared for this ahead of time?
Thanks!

We did not use any kind of hand stamp that I can remember and I have gone 4x since 2009. Your ticket will get you back in the park.
Undercover Tourist has pretty quick shipping but I would order at least a couple weeks in advance just for my own comfort level.
Not sure about your mom's finger scan but I hope I helped on the other 2 questions :RpS_biggrin:

There is no stamping - you just reuse your ticket. They will work it out for your mom - she may have to show ID when entering the park (or she may not), so make sure she signs her ticket and carries some picture ID.

When is a good time to buy tickets? I am going to get ours from Undercover Tourist. I'd do it at least one month before you leave so that you have time for the tickets to arrive. If they have a special deal on the ticket that you are wanting to purchase, you might want to get them sooner rather then later.

DLR does a hand stamp but WDW does not. That is what the finger scan is for.

It isn't really a finger scan that they are taking but it has to do more with the measurement of the distance between knuckles, etc. So.....even though her finger print might not work there is still a very good chance that the finger scan will. I'd do as Vicki says however and make sure that she carries picture ID with her and signs her card.....just in case it doesn't work.

I ordered our tickets from UT last Thursday at 10am. Since we are leaving on Sept 30 (7 days!!!!!!!!!!!:peace:), I was a little nervous over the timing, so I upgraded to Priority Mail for $4.95 (what's $5 on $1200 worth of tickets). Anyway, they shipped the same day, and arrived in the mail on Saturday.
If your deal lets up upgrade shipping, than do it that way.

The other factor to consider for ordering tickets (if you're planning quite a bit in advance) is the annual price increase. For the past 5 years, they've increase prices in the summertime (Aug 2006, Aug 2007, Aug 2008, Aug 2009, Aug 2010 and Jun 2011). If you buy before the price increase, you lock in the lower prices.
