After a day of pushing through DHS with no break, we were pretty tired and ready for a sit-down break. 50's PT Cafe was exactly what we needed. We were seated at a TV table within after just a few minutes in the lounge.
DS was really confused by the TV. He asked a few times why they didn't have Disney Junior on and tried to change the channel. Eventually he got over it and actually enjoyed some of the clips.
DH and I both chose the sampler platter.
It looks huge, but it is actually a reasonable portion of food. I appreciated the balance of food groups. The vegetables were welcome after the previous day's hearty helping o' noodles at Chefs de France.

There was a choice of the typical Disney "kids picks" or what our server called the "healthy balanced meals" that came on a mickey plate. There was a choice of fish or grilled chicken and pasta. I chose the "healthy balanced" chicken for DS because he prefers fruit over dessert anyway. He and the baby shared it. They had pasta and chicken the night before, but hey there is a reason this stuff is on the kid menus. They love it.

Our server said on DDP we could have any non-alcoholic beverage on the menu, except for the ones with the glow cubes--and so could the kids. I wavered between a shake and a cherry coke and he said I should order the shake and that some cherry coke would find it's way to the table. That was very kind. He also brought out all of the extra shakes in their metal cups and some to go cups for take-along.
I had the PB&J shake with a chocolate base so it would "taste just like a peanut butter cup". I'm really confused, though, as to why it's called PB&J since there is no jelly. But oh well it was really tasty. DH and the kids had strawberry and they liked them, too.

Our server was very prompt and often reminded us that we could set the pace of the meal--if we wanted to be in and out quickly, he advised us to order our dessert early since the kitchen can be slow with desserts. He also suggested that since we were having shakes, that he just box up some s'mores for us to take along for a midnight snack back at our resort. We thought that was a great idea, so that's what we did. I didn't take a pic, but they were very good and traveled well.
Speaking of the server, we did get some antics, but none of the extreme "eat your veggies" or "elbows off the table" kind. That would have been OK, but we were fine without it. He was really funny, told some tall tales that involved some of the other servers, and complained loudly to other tables whenever we asked for anything. One of the other servers overheard me pointing out a boston cream parfait to my DH, and when I said "I don't think I could eat something that big" he looked over and said "Good. It's not for you." Anywhere else it would have been mortifying but it was all a nice part of their antics.
So in summary, we loved this meal. The food was tasty, generous without being overboard, and fairly priced. It was a great value on the DDP but I think I could see us paying OOP for dinner and a milkshake. We will likely be back on a future trip.
