We have an 11:30 lunch ressie at Coral Reef on 08/29. They only start lunch at 11:30, so I am hoping to be one of the first ones there for the day. I am hoping to be able to get a table close to the tanks. Do you need to do anything special for this? Do I need to call ahead and request it, or is it a first come-first serve kind of thing. We are a party of 5. Thank you!

When we had an 11:30 Lunch reservation last year for our party of four we politely asked to be seated on the tank when we checked in and they accomodated us no problem!

That's what I am hoping for. We have 5 in our party, so I am hoping they have tables at the tanks that will accomodate 5. The kids would love to eat next to the tanks and watch the fish.

The tables in front of the tank are for 4 people but I suppose they could put a chair at the end. Might make it difficult for the server though. There are booths that would seat 5 that are right across from the tank and you'd still have a good view.

That's what I was afraid of. Well, all we can do is ask to be seated by the tanks and hope for the best. Thank you.

Honestly - I prefer being seated on one of the higher tiers. Those seated next to the tank tend to have a lot of "visitors" near their tables (namely, the children of those not seated near the tank). You can see just fine from higher up, IMHO, and you don't have the hassle of other people standing too close to you (which kind of weirds me out a bit).

I guess I never thought of that. I know my kids would be wanting to go down and see the fish up close without really thinking about the people that are trying to eat there. It would be rather awkward eating lunch with people you don't know standing next to you. I'm going to have to give this one some more thought I guess.

I think it would be fun to sit right against the window, but we really enjoyed sitting in the booth. The booths are curved and everyone has a good seat to view the tank.

We were actually on the third tier when we ate there. I was very disappointed at first, but the view was fine. Plenty close to see all the fish, not the best for pictures though.

I just did a google search for "coral reef dining pictures". It does show all tables at the tank are for 4. The booths right across from the tables though look like they could be 5 or 6, though. Maybe I can request "a booth by the tanks" and hopefully get one of those. With DS (4), a booth is typically a better option anyway. Thank you all so much for your help. I'm really looking forward to this meal now!

A few years ago we did an 11:30a at Coral Reef and had no problem receiving table directly at tank. Scuba diver in tank actually wrote note and held it up to tank wall that I needed to finish my potatoes. LOL

That's so cool! I didn't know they had a scuba diver in the tank.
