View Full Version : Today's Practice Thread - "Phineas and Ferb" Coming to Hollywood Studios - Yay or Nay
These guys are purportedly coming to the Hollywood Studios sometime in May:
http://img121.imageshack.us/i/phineasandferbphineasan.jpg/http://i55.tinypic.com/14n20ba.jpg
Is anyone excited? Will anyone who doesn't have kids and/or live in their parents' basement have any idea who these guys are?
They are supposed to be "very" popular, but I have honestly never seen the show.

Wow.... you have never seen Phineas and Ferb? Please treat yourself and see it a couple times. I am 40 years old and I find some of the cartoons hilarious. There is some high brow humor in many of the cartoons that fly over the kids heads. Our kids love it. Even my 2 year old says "watch finny and ferb?"
I am pleased that the characters are finally coming to DHS. Too long in the waiting IMO, but my kids would much rather see them than say the Little Einsteins.

I have heard of them but have never seen the show. My kids are 15 and 13 and I'm pretty sure they don't watch this show. They probably know the show but I have never seen them watching it. They do watch Sponge Bob.

My kids are 12 and 7. They would recognize F&P, but don't watch the show. Maybe we should check it out.

I am sooooo sad!! I'm 43 and watch Phineas and Ferb by myself. Well, I mean, I also watch it with my DDs-- 16 and 10... and DH loves it too. (Not sure what the dogs and cat think, but they're right there on the couch too...) But, yes, I watch it alone. It is hilarious. I have been wishing and wishing they would be at DS for February Vacation, but alas, we shall have to take another trip. Personally, I cannot understand what has taken them so long. It's been popular for quite a while; we've been watching faithfully for over a year...

Never seen them. The 10 yr old boys I care for know of them. Which makes me glad they're coming. Let Magic Kingdom go to the princesses. Disney Hollywood Studios, with Star Tours, Jedi, and this Ferb character, can go to the Guys. Now-- if we could just get a Pixar character meal and another ride the whole family can do together, it will be complete.

I know who they are because my DS was one who screened it before it came out. VERY weird to be hearing about all this premiere episode and then as it starts me going "WAIT...I've seen this before, how can that be when it's the first time it has ever aired?" Then it dawned on me it was one he saw & then gave opinions on. Maybe it got better? I didn't care for it from the first episode.
I think it's good they are coming to DHS though because it sounds like they are pretty popular.

My DD7 will be excited they are coming to HS, we both love the show. I think she would be more excited to meet them than the princessess.

We love Phineas & Ferb around here, too!! I've always been a sucker for characters that are so innocent with their annoyances (Elf, etc). P&F are so innocent! They just want to have a good time and make sure everyone around them is able to participate! Even the bad guy is sort of innocent. His idea of evil is usually not enough to get him into the "in crowd" of evil personalities. It's definitely a show for young & old, alike. DVR it next chance you get, imo!

We watch P&F at least once a day, every day.

None of my three (14, 5, & 1) watch it. They know of it, but just aren't into the show. So, not a big draw for us. *shrugs*

I would be thrilled if they came to DHS! Any idea of when in May? We are going early/mid may and I would be so happy to see them! My kids and I all love the show. We have a son named Finn and call him Phineas all the time! I would love to get their picture together.

My kids don't watch either... 12, 9, 9 and 2. They know the charaters though... I'm sure they would rather see them, than some of the other characters they have there.

I like the show and watch with my 9 and 7 y.o. boys. My question is what do they mean by coming to HS. Weren't they in the Christmas Parade? Is there a ride being revamped for them or is it just character signing.
Nevermind
From the press release:
Guests will be able to take part in an energetic and fun-filled meet-and-play experience with Phineas & Ferb at Disney's Hollywood Studios (scheduled to begin in May). Phineas and Ferb -- from the popular television show of the same name -- "know what they're gonna do today": they are going to make a movie all about their crazy adventures. With the help of guests and movie director Cletus Filmore, they will recreate some of their favorite moments...unless they are taking a break to meet with their adoring fans, signing autographs and taking pictures. The fun will take place near the exit to Muppet*Vision 3-D.
This is great news! DS loves Phineas and Ferb, and I have to admit that I do too. It's actually quite entertaining for a "kid's" cartoon.

It's about time! Hannah likes this show and so do I! The "Rollercoaster: The Musical" was awesome! I haven't read the press release and I'm too lazy to look it up...are they going to be there for a while or is this just temporary? Course, by the time we take another trip, Hannah wil have moved on to something else and/or they'll no longer be there. :RpS_unsure:

I'm I excited about this "why yes, yes I am". My son 8 will be pumped to meet these guys and so will the rest of the family. We try to watch this show every day. It is so much fun. So basically we are "busted" and cannot wait to meet these imaginative geniuses.

I don't think they've announced specific dates yet. All I've seen is that they are coming in "May".

YAY!!! We're huge fans of this show - my kids will be so excited! We can't believe it took this long to get them here. We saw them on the Christmas parade special a couple years ago and my kids have been asking to meet them ever since. HS is the perfect place for them!
ETA: BTW Josh, you have to catch a couple episodes - seriously! DH & I laugh all the time at this show. There's some adult humor in there that kind of goes over the kids heads.

yeah, yeah, yeah. The entire family love P&F! They will be so excited, even my "too mature for her age" daughter will want to go ;). Is tomorrow the premiere when Candence gets busted? My kids have been singing the song all week.
and yes, Josh, you must catch a couple of episodes, DH and I have been know to have it on when the kids aren't around one of those shows that hits on all levels and spotlights using your imagination and getting out and doing things.

Bummer! I was really hoping they'd be there in time for our trip in late March. Our whole family enjoys the show - especially DS10, DS6 and DS4.
I wouldn't be a very responsible Disney blogger if I didn't watch all of the episodes. I guess I better get on it. It should be a pretty popular meet and greet - I know a lot of people have been clamoring to see the characters.

DH (really a 10 year boy locked in a 40 year old's body!!!) LOVES this show and I have to admit.....I really like it myself. If they are there when we are there in May, this might be one of the few meet and greets that we do. Especially considering the fact that my 14 y/o niece who is going with us loves this show also. I'm not sure about the 22 year old twins but betting that they like it also. So.....I guess we will be meeting P&F on Thurs and Darth Vader on Friday!!!!

I think one of the best things about WDW is the utter Joy on people's faces as they experience something new and fun. The castmembers enthusiasm add to the experience for all those around. I have heard of P & F but have no intention of watching or going out of my way to see them. That said, to see someone else enjoy them is a reason enough to have them at Disney I guess.
I'd take whatever Phineas and Ferb is to Duffy the Bear any day. If they're going to import anything from Japan, it would be Pooh's Honey Hunt.
Check this out if you haven't seen it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFWhL262u8A
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pooh%27s_Hunny_Hunt
"With a budget of over $130 million, and featuring a never-before-used 'trackless' ride technology, Pooh's Hunny Hunt opened in late 2000 to large crowds and praise by many Disney internet fansites. To date, the attraction continues to have some of the longest wait times of any attraction at the Tokyo Disneyland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Disneyland) Resort."
Would love to go to Tokyo DisneaSea someday too.
Need to figure out how to embed Youtube videos at some point too. Someone remind me when I'm in a good mood.

Awesome. It's really the only cartoon that I secretely like every bit as much as the kids (probably more). I'm glad they're coming, and I really don't understand why it normally takes so long for Disney to get their popular characters meets and dining options.

Yeah, I don't get the Duffy the Bear thing at all either. I'm not familiar with Phineas and Ferb but at least I know it is something that means something to a large segment of WDW visitors. How many people going to WDW know who Duffy is?
4mickeyfreax
02-10-2011, 03:33 PM
ok, Josh. This needs to become another test forum...Who IS Duffy the Bear? Or maybe, "Down with Duffy" ?
Haha, a "DIE DUFFY" thread might get us on the map, though probably for "all the wrong reasons." I've never been to Japan, but I've been told Duffy is "huge" there. I don't get it though - he's not even cute!

My kids all enjoy Phineas and Ferb too. However, Perry the Platypus is their favorite part! DS17 bought himself two souvenirs on our last trip in December and one was a talking Perry!
Umm I think there are two ways. From the "Go Advanced" screen next to the "post quick reply button" you'll see a little video clip button above the "dialogue box" next to the insert image button. From here you can paste in the complete Youtube URL and it will format it for you.
I also added a "custom BB code tag."
TheNumberAfterV=
For example, if the Youtube url was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6o8VNZa5NrA
The code you would type is
6o8VNZa5NrA
Everything after the v= goes within the youtube code
Geeze that was terribly confusing. I don't know if you can trust someone who can't use the [code] tags properly in the first place

Love Phineas and Ferb - my 5 year old daughter thinks it's hilarious. We saw some super cool Perry shirts while at Disney in December but couldn't find them in the stores there. I found one online when I got home for my hubby.

Yay! I am a mom to three boys (which explains my username). They LOVE F&P! In fact, my DH loves it too. I feel like WDW is way over the top too, "princessy," so it would be REALLY nice for them to do something that would appeal more to boys.

I love Perry too-so I will look forward to merchandising esp pins. By my kids(12) while the still might catch the show from time to time will not take time away from TSM ...there is just not enough in HS to keep us entertained. It is a large park with many shows that need a little revamping and a few more non-roller coster rides
