Beaches n Cream

We had burgers and onion rings here (yummy onion rings) and then made ourselves sick with ridiculous sundaes. The kids EACH had their own Banana Split - both ate about 1/2 before giving up. Mike and I both had a No Way Jose - that was so good. I ate about 1/2. Mike ate all of his + some of mine! Ridiculous - $82 bill, but it was still worth it!

Grade = A-.

We were there last July... I was very disappointed in the lack of variety of ice cream flavors. This is what allears has listed as the flavors on the menu: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Mint Chocolate Chip, Coffee, Butter Pecan, Orange Sherbet, Strawberry Frozen Yogurt and Fat-free No Sugar Added Vanilla. Kinda ho-hum:noidea: for me, but I guess it's just the basics which is pretty good for the kids.

We've been to Beaches and Cream once, when we were a group of 4 plus a baby. Now that we are a group of 6, I'm afraid of a long wait. Wish they took ADRs!

Well I only go for the special desserts like the No Way Jose, so it doesn't matter to me what kind of flavors they have to just get ice cream.

Brandie - we were there (it was January though) in the middle of the afternoon, like 2:30 or 3 PM and there was almost no one in there. In the summer, I'm sure that would be different with lots of people using the pool, but mid-afternoon may still be your best shot without a long wait.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good sundae. Sometimes a sundae is just too much, especially considering the huge portions they serve at B&C (as depicted in your photo), and the heaviness of a giant sundae on 90+ degree afternoon. I was just interested in a single scoop cone, with something more than your garden variety flavors, and B&C couldn't accommodate. While the rest of my party ordered shakes, I opted to have nothing.

I will admit I am in the minority on B&C. I actually hated the burger to the point of not finishing it. The ice cream was good, but not outstanding.

We loved everything we have eaten at B&C. Have taken 2 trips there on different trips. The kitchen sink was our favorite, but we split it beteewn 5 of us and couldn't finish.

We ate at B&C last month - really good onion rings, I agree! I thought the burgers were just ok, but I wasn't expecting fantastic food so I can't say I was disappointed. We will definitely enjoy an overpriced meal there again one day, or at least go for the ice cream treats. We arrived at 11:30 for lunch (IIRC they open at 11AM) and got the last available booth. There were still tables and seats at the counter available at that time.

I found the atmosphere to be charming and just what we were looking for when eating lunch the day we dined @ B & C in February of 2010. The server was nice and the restaurant just had a good feeling throughout the place. The food was not particularly memorable but the memories were !:RpS_smile:
DH and I ordered shakes and the kids got cute ice cream Mice for dessert.

Agree the food is not memorable, but my family simply loves this place. However we are huge ice cream addicts and go at least 4 or 5 times a week at home during the summer for a cone or sundae, so BC is right up our alley! :RpS_biggrin: The kitchen sink is amazing. The last time we ordered it they kept flipping the lights on and off and made a big to-do about us ordering it and basically paraded it around the place before they put it on our table. Not sure if that is standard procedure or it was due to DD b-day that day. Can't wait to go back on June and November trips!!

We've been several times. The ice cream options are HUGE. We all have big appetites, but can easily split them. We have seen several kitchen sinks, but haven't ordered one yet. (Yes, they make a big deal about them!) We're waiting until we go with some friends so we can split one. It's too much for just us.

I have always wanted to go to B&C and get the Kitchen Sink! Just the fun of it and the challenge to finish it as a family will be great fun for my kiddos. What I REALLY like about it is the price. At $24, I figure we will SAVE money instead of all 6 of us ordering something.

Thanks for the review Vicki!! The atmosphere looks fun! One of the reasons we haven't been yet is location. When we have been to the EP resort area there is always too long of a wait and I could never justify taking valuable park time out to go BUT staying at BWV this year I think we will be able to make it work!
EXCITED!!

DH loves the hamburgers there- I don't but that's ok because the roast beef sandwich is fantastic-LOVE IT!!! We always have the place on our must do list (usually 1st and last days)- I love the waiters and waitresses, and even though the place is small I am willing to wait.
