I was just wondering if you could actually change times there or if it *has* to be done through the phone/on-line/guest services?

I'm thinking with DHS - I have an ADR but depending on if my kid gets into Jedi Training and/or Idol that could conflict with the ADR but we still want to eat at 50's Primetime, so I was wondering if we find out a conflict exists, could we just go over there and see if they could change it themselves?

I'm just thinking maybe they could do a little magic and just make a notation that we will be coming in at such & such a time instead of orginal time or something like that (I'm just assuming you probably wouldn't be able to get same day ADR's).

It may be a non-issue but just thought about it & wondered if it was even possible! I know you can show up slightly early & slightly late (or possibly REALLY late depending on their mood!! NOT recommended but umm....first timer mistakes happen, I know from experience! :RpS_flapper: )

We had ressies once at R & C for 7:30pm but were hungry at 5:30 so we walked up to the podium and discussed with them when our ressies were but wondered if we could make them earlier. They seated us immediately. I realize 5:30 is probably not peak dining time so that may have had something to do with it.

We had a lunch ADR at 50's Prime Time at 1:30p during our last visit. We were hungry around 11:30am and walked over to ask if they could seat us any earlier. If I remember correctly, they seated us within 10-15 minutes of us walking up. FWIW, we were a party of two and touring in early January, so not a peak travel time. I am sure that our small party size and it not being a peak travel period were both factors in their ability to be flexible with our ADR.

I would think that last minute changes would be better handled at the restaurant rather than with the central reservations line. Over the phone, they're just going to tell you that nothing is available. I would expect that most at the check-in counters will do what they can to try to accomodate you.

There is also a kiosk on corner of Sunset and Hollywood for guest services that can change ADRs for you. But I think I'd stop and ask at the actual restaurant first

You can defintely try at the restaurant. We did this twice last year. Once it worked and once it didn't. On Thanksgiving we were able to change our later Cape May dinner to a much earlier time. However, we wanted to change our early Mama Melrose dinner to a later time and were not able to.

We often showed up early for ADRs and were usually seated right away with no problem.

We showed up early to our San Angel Inn ADR and they were able to seat us within 10 minutes.
