Catalina Eddie’s is another piece of Sunset Ranch Market, along with Rosie’s All American Cafe, Fairfax Fare, Hollywood Scoops, and Toluca Legs Turkey Company. As you walk down Sunset Boulevard toward Tower of Terror, you’ll see it on the left in the back of the Market. That’s Rosie’s to the left of it.
It serves the same Disney pizza as Toy Story Pizza Planet along with the Caesar Salad and Hot Italian Deli from Animal Kingdom’s Pizzafari.
Most people will want to head to Toy Story Pizza Planet for the slightly more varied menu and air-conditioned seating, but Catalina Eddie’s serves similar food and is more convenient if others in your group want to order from the various Sunset Ranch Market stands.
This is the similar Hot Italian Deli Sandwich from Pizzafari. For my take on Disney pizza, see the Pizza Planet review. The Sandwich may or may not be larger than it looks, depending on how large it looks in the picture. It’s got ham on top, lettuce with Caesar dressing, pesto-marinated tomatoes, provolone cheese, Swiss cheese, and turkey anchoring the bottom. It was a nice, large portion that tasted like it was made fresh to order with light, fluffy bread and high quality ingredients. I enjoyed it much more than yesterday’s Flatbread and it was certainly more food for the money. It’s a nice alternative to Disney pizza and the other options at the Market.
Catalina Eddie’s shares seating with the other Sunset Ranch Market quick service locations. All seating is outdoors on benches. Umbrellas and awnings help keep the sun out, but it doesn’t do much to decrease the temperature. There is really no air-conditioned seating nearby. You would have to march over to ABC Commissary, which is a good five-plus minutes away.
The Sunset Ranch Market condiment bars aren’t particularly exciting. You’ve got your run-of-the-mill options and nothing more. Mustard, ketchup, mayo, barbecue sauce, and relish come in packets and ranch is the only salad dressing offered.
