Just a heads up that Disney moved Hollywood Studios’ morning Extra Magic Hour from Saturday August 23rd to Friday August 22nd due to the Villains Unleashed event on the 23rd. This has changed the recommendations a bit on those dates.

A brief update in between ketchup reviews as there is not a whole lot going on at Magic Kingdom these days now that the Mine Train has been open for 6+ weeks and the same Hub construction continues.

This is what we’re looking at for February. Click to enlarge or view as a prettier PDF. And if you don’t know what the numbers/letters mean, read the top of this post. The full operating schedule is available here.

February is more straightforward than most months. The first 11 days see low crowds and some of the lowest resort prices of the season. February 12th – 22nd is significantly more crowded with Presidents Day, Fat Tuesday, and the Princess Half Marathon contributing to higher crowd levels and resort prices. Crowds dip substantially once the Princess Marathon clears out on February 23rd and remain relatively light through the first week in March.

Disney made a round of operating schedule changes to October and November 2014 yesterday, almost all of which are extensions at Animal Kingdom. That’s good news for anyone looking to take advantage of lower crowds after crowds disperse in the afternoon. See Considering a Late Arrival at Animal Kingdom With or Without FastPass+ for more tips.

Disney released the February 2015 Disney World operating schedule today at the usual link: http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/ParkHours/WDWTravelAgent_february.pdf. Click “refresh” on your browser after loading it to make sure you’re looking at the newest version.

February 1st through the 13th is a great time to visit with relatively low crowds and resort prices, in addition to cool weather. Things pick up considerably February 14th and crowds will remain heavy through Sunday the 22nd with the President’s Day Holiday, Mardi Gras, and Princess Half Marathon bringing in thousands upon thousands of people to the resort. Crowds and prices return to relatively low levels from Monday February 23rd through the first week in March.

Following up on last year’s “A Very Canadian 4th of July,” featuring a review of Le Cellier, we’ll head out to Epcot on the evening of July 4th. It’s 4:45pm and Spaceship Earth has a 45-minute posted wait with the extended queue on both sides full. Looking over wait times from the past week, we can get a better idea about how much longer waits are on a major holiday:

Candlelight Processional Dining Packages went on sale today here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/candlelight-dinner-packages/ with more information about the event available here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/epcot/candlelight-processional/. For more information on what the Package includes, see: http://www.easywdw.com/category/worth-2/candlelight/.

Basically, the Dining Package includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert per person, in addition to a guaranteed seat in the theater for a select Candlelight Processional show that evening for a fixed price or two credits on the Disney Dining Plan. In short, I recommend the Dining Package if you’re interested in seeing the show with the least hassle possible. Be prepared to arrive at the meal and eat.

We’ll take a moment from the website’s intensive Food and Wine Festival preparations to see if any mounds of dirt in the Hub have moved or any snack carts have taken up new positions. Spoiler: both.
